Our Neighbors Come First

We are dedicated to supporting our customers and being a good neighbor in the communities in which we live and work. This includes investing back into the local community. Sunshine Canyon Landfill values its relationship with you and the community stakeholders.

Keeping In Touch With Our Community

  • Communications

This web site is dedicated to keeping you informed, and the Sunshine Canyon Landfill Quarterly Newsletter is available to the surrounding communities and other interested parties.

  • Visits

We take great pride in what we do and encourage as many people as possible to tour our facility. Due to COVID-19, we are currently suspending all tours. Please contact our office at (818) 362-2124 if you would like to discuss future opportunities.

  • Presentations

Management from Sunshine Canyon Landfill is active with several community groups, including the Valley Industry and Commerce Association (VICA) and various neighborhood councils. We can speak to yours, too.

  • Meetings and Public Hearings

Throughout the life of the landfill, public hearings and meetings have and continue to take place, enabling the community to help shape the design of the landfill and the conditions of approval. A Community Advisory Committee (CAC) continues to meet bi-monthly.

  • Charitable Donations and Community Contributions

Sunshine Canyon Landfill and its ownership subsidiary of Republic Services, continue to extensively support the communities in the San Fernando Valley. Sunshine Canyon Landfill has contributed more than $1 million to various local causes, including the North Valley Youth Soccer, Kiwanis, Rotary, Valley Economic Alliance, Valley Industry & Commerce Association, The Valley Family Center and the North Valley YMCA.
